On-Demand Merging of Traceability Links with Models
نویسندگان
چکیده
Model management operations such as refinement and transformation modify existing or produce new models. To assist both engineers and tools in tracing the path of changes and decisions, maintenance of traceability information is essential. There are two main approaches for storing traceability; in the first, traceability information is embedded inside the models, while in the second, traces form separate models. The former allows users to inspect traceability information in a visual manner, but pollutes the models, while the latter keeps the models clean, but visualization is troublesome. In this paper, we propose a unification of the two approaches via model merging. We suggest that traceability information should be maintained in separate models, which can be merged with the primary model(s) on demand to produce annotated models for inspection purposes. We present a concrete example that demonstrates the practicality of our approach.

Impacts of the Negative-exponential and the K-distribution modeled FSO turbulent links on the theoretical and simulated performance of the distributed diffusion networks
Merging the adaptive networks with the free space optical (FSO) communication technology is a very interesting field of research because by adding the benefits of this technology, the adaptive networks become more efficient, cheap and secure. This is due to the fact that FSO communication uses unregistered visible light bandwidth instead of the overused radio spectrum. However, in spite of all ...
متن کاملUma Proposta de Modelagem para a Generalização de Elos de Rastreabilidade
Several models proposed traceability links that provide pre–defined groups of links for requirements traceability. These models are limited to pre–defined links without the ability to add new attributes to the existing links. This work proposes a model for requirements traceability that generalizes the types of links already established in the literature and enables addition of new standards al...
متن کاملContinuous kinematic wave models of merging traffic flow
Traffic dynamics at a merging junction can be numerically solved with discrete conservation equationsand so-called supply-demand methods. In this paper, we first introduce a continuous multi-commoditykinematic wave model of merging traffic and then develop a new framework for constructing the solutionsto its Riemann problem with jump initial conditions. In the supply-demand spac...
متن کاملOptimal Capacities in Discrete Facility Location Design Problem
Network location models comprise one of the main categories of location models. These models have various applications in regional and urban planning as well as in transportation, distribution, and energy management. In a network location problem, nodes represent demand points and candidate locations to locate the facilities. If the links network is unchangeably determined, the problem will be ...
متن کاملOn the Influence of Models-to-Natural-Language Transformation in Traceability Link Recovery among Requirements and Conceptual Models
Recovering traceability links between software artifacts and requirements is a common task in Software Engineering. Information Retrieval (IR) techniques have been applied to recover traceability links amongst code and requirements. By transforming Models into Natural Language (M2NL), it is possible to apply IR to calculate their traceability links to requirements. However, results retrieved by...
